(Folks, there's R-rated language throughout this thing. Normally I can edit it out; this time, not so much. I may do so later, but now I want to leave it as I wrote it.)

You Can't Tell Me What To Do!!!

This has been a week of really enjoyable news coverage. First the Caitlyn Jenner debut with all the accolades. Then the outing of Rachel Dolezal (which is basically the same thing, only with race this time). I have had a wonderful time watching all the commentary explaining to me why Caitlyn Jenner is actually a woman because he feels like one, but Rachel Dolezal is not black, even though she feels like it.

Why Do I Remain Catholic?

Jesus in the Eucharist

Elizabeth Scalia from The Anchoress on Patheos asks those Catholics among us to chime in: Why do you remain Catholic? She writes:

Have you ever heard the statement: "If you were accused of being Catholic, would your enemies have enough evidence to convict you?". Manly Men dot Org has been placed on the Cisco block list for "Religion" :)

How They Make a Safety Razor

I got into wetshaving years ago when Gillette came out with their 5-bladed razor. I was getting fed up with buying 4 cartridges for about $15 for these new "shaving systems". I decided to go back to the "shaving system" my grandfather used. A safety razor with a double edged blade. Then I git rid of the can, and decided to use a brush and soap in a cup. Now I make my own soap (well, melt it is more accurate word because I'm using glycerin soap, so all I have to do is melt it into the cup in the microwave, and add a few drops of scent and a drop if color).

Those Nasty Traditionalists!

I enjoy reading Erin Manning. She writes at a blog called And Sometimes Tea. But every so often she goes on a tear against who she considered "conservative" Catholics. She has critiqued Pope Francis' speech with that trademark and should I say un-Christ-like disdain she presents when she get some particular bee in her bonnet.

Congressman Speaking Truth to Power

Let me introduce Rep. Brindenstine.

Is it Time to Leave the Republican Party

Patrick Archbold is fed up with the Republican party...

I am almost there.

For years, I have advocated involvement in the Republican party by conservative Catholics as the best means of creating an effective group dedicated to the principles we hold dear. Among these principles are life, liberty, and subsidiarity.

S.E. Cupp won't be "Rushed".

In an article for the NY Post entitled "I won't be Rushed", S.E. Cupp says:

“And we can’t be afraid to call out Rush Limbaugh,” I say as an aside in the piece. “If we can get three Republicans on three different networks saying, ‘What Rush Limbaugh said is crazy and stupid and dangerous,’ maybe that’ll give other Republicans cover” to feel comfortable disagreeing with him as well from time to time.
